Draped Tartan Mural by Cole & Son Product Ref: 130/2006

For this new wallcovering collection designers from both houses sought to create an expansive panel design; where MacAndreas Tartan sits as the fabric, Draped Tartan becomes the gown. The result was inspired by the famous taffeta gown worn by Kate Moss in the Vivienne Westwood Autumn Winter 1993/94 Anglomania collection, which was cut and ruched allowing the tartan to crease and fall in different directions. Draped Tartan creates an exuberant trompe l’oeil motif honouring the gown’s expressive folds. Cole & Son’s artists entirely hand-painted the design’s fabric over countless hours, imbuing the drapery with the presence of the hand in each lovingly painted stripe.
