Tudor Rose recalls the craftsmanship of journeymen whose skilled hands once adorned the grand walls of country homes with scenes of nature and grace. Its intricate detailing and painterly richness evoke the opulence and sentimentality of the era. Kit Kemp has updated and recoloured a GP & J Baker original first designed in 1928 and produced as a linen in 1929 called ‘Portuguese’. Tudor Rose is a pattern based on a combination of old Tudor damasks and Chinese Macao ‘Portuguese’ embroideries of the 16th and 17th centuries. Shown here in the Plaster colourway.
