Stencilled floors were a popular decorative touch in early colonial homes, as was the pineapple motif: not only a symbol of hospitality, the combination of the leaf crown with the spiralling scales of the fruit has always made for a stylish decorative device. Here we have placed it in a basket, painted in a naive way, with plenty of space to give an open layout to the design. Shown here in the 01 Blue colourway.
