Each rug in the Heather Chontos collection takes 5 to 10 days to make, requiring 2 to 3 artisans. Weavers use hand-knotting and switch between 10 to 15 yarn shades to follow the pattern. Various dyeing techniques, like space, solid, and abrash dyeing, capture the depth and color of Chontos’ paintings. After completion, the yarns are washed separately, and the rug is hand-cut for the final touch.
